DROP THE DONUT

Hello
I have a passion for art, nutrition and living an active lifestyle. I believe that we can reach optimal health through, not only what we eat, but how we live our life. This includes choosing whole organic foods, drinking purified, clean water, breathing fresh air, reducing our exposure to excessive technology and stressors and nourishing the soul. I plan to provide you with valuable insights and tools based on the fundamentals of holistic nutrition so that you can avoid the pitfalls of our current food industry, medical system and pharmaceutical industry and live your best life. I hope you join me in seeking the best version of yourself.
My Story
I have always had an interest in helping the body heal through Nutrition and I learned fairly early on in my life that I had to be in control of my own health through proper nutrition and lifestyle approaches. Like many others, I grew up on highly processed foods such as sugary cereal, pancakes mixes, white bread, and sugary snacks made by Hostess. I was active in sports, but I struggled with chronic fatigue, poor mood, sinus congestion and even panic attacks. The medical profession had no answer for my ills. As a teenager, I took matters into my own hands and discovered a major improvement in my energy and health through nutrition and lifestyle changes.
I graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Agricultural and Consumer Economics. This was my first insight into the food industry production and marketing tactics. I studied policies and laws regarding food labeling, water quality, land use and the Farm bill. I then attended and graduated from law school where I honed my critical thinking skills. As an Assistant District Attorney for many years, I became skilled at analyzing evidence and expert testimony in search of truth.
I continued an active lifestyle throughout my years of working and raising 3 girls. As an adult, and mother, I pursued mountain biking, hiking, walking, body building, gymnastics and gardening. In my 50's, I became competitive in Aerial Arts and coached aerial classes. I competed at the National and World Level in Pole Sports. I joined Crossfit just before my 60th birthday where I am currently competitive in the Masters 60+ division. Most recently, I placed top 10% in the World in my age group of 60-64 at the Crossfit Semifinals.
In furtherance of my passion for Health and Nutrition I attended Cosmetology School and obtained my Esthetician license and worked at a Day Spa for several years. I also attended a course in Ayurvedic Medicine at a local community College. Most recently, I completed 1200 hours of NANP approved course learning through the Energetic Heath Institute to qualify as a certified Holistic Nutritionist. I have also completed the Crossfit 1 Nutrition Course.
My mission is to help you think critically about about your nutrition and lifestyle so you can avoid vulnerability to "broken science" and achieve optimal health and performance.
